WHAT IS LINDANE


Also called gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane, Gammaxene, Gammallin.

Lindane is an organochlorine chemical that has been used both as an agricultural insecticiden. As well, as a pharmaceutical cure for lice and scabies.

So, does lindane kill scabies eggs? of course yes, it is a pediculicidal and a scabicidal used to treat head lice and scabies rash, also available in generic form.

The World Health Organization classified lindane as ‘moderately hazardous’. Because this drug adversely affects the nervous system. Lindane is a stimulant of the central nervous system (CNS) when it is regularly absorbed. After absorption through the exoskeleton of arthropods, lindane is assumed to stimulate the nervous system, leading to convulsions and death.


LINDANE SIDE EFFECTS


any medication could cause some unwanted effects.  The common side effects of lindane include:

*stinging, burning, redness 

*skin rash

* shaking of your body

* dry skin

*dizziness

* numbness or tingling of the skin

* drowsiness

There are more effective and safer drugs to treat scabies, do not use Lindane unless you have already tried other creams and didn’t work, or if your body does not tolerate the first-line medications, because Lindane, has dangerous side effects and may be dangerous. Do not use lindane lotion to treat lice it’s used only as a second-line treatment for scabies mite, use alternatively the shampoo for crabs (lice) but not for scabies.

HOW TO USE LINDANE TO TREAT SCABIES

*before you use lindane make sure you wash, rinse and dry your skin from all other creams and oils or ointment.

*Dry your skin well after taking a warm bath before you start the application of lindane.

*apply adequate lindane to your dry skin to cover the whole skin layer from the jaw down, including the sole of your feet, and rub it well.

*How long do you leave lindane on? Leave lindane for 8 to 12 hours, and then wash it thoroughly to remove lindane.
